Art for Haunted Souls
Leah Astore is a New England-based artist known for her emotive style of portraiture and ethereal Polaroids. Growing up in Plymouth, MA Leah spent her days frolicking in nature, daydreaming by the ocean, and immersing herself in the beauty of New England. As time went on Leah’s love for literature blossomed, which led her to study English and receive her Bachelor’s. That’s when Leah was able to explore photography, writing, and filmmaking more intimately. Today, her sense of adventure, spontaneity, and passion continues to drive her to create to this day.
Artist Statement
Art is a form of alchemy to me. I take my loves, hopes, tragedies, and dreams and transform them into photographs and words. Making art has always been a way for me to communicate my experiences and emotions, while simultaneously sharing the inner workings of my mind and soul.
Creating gives me an outlet to transform my reality into something romantic.
I believe that we need art, perhaps now more than ever, to make sense of the pain and the mundane we experience in our every day lives.
My mission is to help people to see the beauty that still exists in this world even when it’s hard to find.
